3D Printed Spine in Printer

3D printing has exploded over the past decade as the technology has advanced significantly and consumer applications have improved cost and accessibility.  We use 3D printing for a variety of purposes including making custom sensor harnesses and hardware components, providing physicians with physical models of their patients' spines for surgical planning and education, and materializing custom surgical solutions.  We have an Afinia H800 desktop printer in our laboratory for rapid prototyping, and also work with various groups around the university when larger parts or specific materials are needed.
